BirdWatch Zambia – BWZ (formerly Zambia Ornithological Society – ZOS) formed in 1969 is an independent, national, conservation society made up of paying members. BWZ is the Zambian partner in BirdLife International. We promote public interest in and appreciation of birds and are involved in research, monitoring, education and advocacy, focused on the Important Bird Areas (IBAs) of Zambia. We provide to paid-up members of the society our Wattled Cranemonthly newsletter and bird walks in and around Lusaka (sometimes Copperbelt and Livingstone too), as well as a WhatsApp BWZ group for exchange of bird news. Corporate and small business members may display their logos and contact details in The Wattled Crane and may advertise on the BWZ Forum Facebook group.
We depend on members’ subscriptions to fund our secretariat so we can do our work so please do consider joining our society.
If you decide to join, please complete the attached membership form and either email back to firstname.lastname@example.org The membership fee ranges from K100 for a single Zambian Citizen to K300 for a resident family. Small businesses pay K800 a year and Corporate members pay K1,500 a year.
